Stream Bio nominated for both Start Up and Product of the Year at prestigious Bionow Awards 2018
Stream Bio has been shortlisted for the prestigious Bionow Awards 2018 in both the Product of the Year and Start Up of the Year categories. These nominations reflect Stream Bio’s excellence in innovation and entrepreneurship for its novel CPN™ technology.
Invented in the research labs of King’s College London, Stream Bio’s CPNs™ are a new generation of innovative molecular bioimaging probes. These highly fluorescent, non-toxic nanoparticles are set to transform the bioimaging market with their unique brightness, exceptional stability, magnetic capability and suitability to be conjugated with a wide range of molecules.
The novel CPNs™ currently have applications in diagnostics and therapeutics, and can potentially be used for imaging tumours and fluorescence-guided surgery. Stream Bio has worked closely with the Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) to help commercialise its proprietary technology through scale-up and development. This has been integral for the successful launch of the bioimaging probes across markets in Europe, highlighting Stream Bio’s entrepreneurial aptitude.
The Bionow awards are among the most esteemed commendations for the life sciences industry in the North of England. Now in its 17thyear, the annual event showcases how world-class research and development from regional organisations is transforming the life sciences sector. Stream Bio will be attending the black-tie event, which is taking place on Thursday 29th November at The Mere Golf Resort & Spa.
Andrew Chaloner, Founding Director and CEO of Stream Bio, commented: “The North of England has a thriving life sciences sector, so it is an honour to receive two separate nominations for the highly reputable Bionow Awards. We are delighted that the impact and potential of our CPNs™ is being recognised and are excited to see where the future will take us.”
